This song has become one of Northland’s anthems.
We sing it more enthusiastically because it has become so familiar over time. We don’t wear it out, though. At least I don’t think we have.
I remember the first time I heard/sang this song at Northland — it was a number of years ago; we were meeting in the old roller rink still; the musical arrangement was different than the one we have been using lately. The impact it had on me then is pretty much the impact it has on me now. I generally find myself wearing out my vocal cords with an enthusiasm I don’t often express and then, just about the time the reality of what I’m saying sinks in to the deepest places of me, I gasp and can’t sing a few words over the tears and then, just as quickly, my voice returns. I sing, renewed by the truth that God is GOOD. All the time. All.
