It is exciting to see the ways that God is bringing together passionate people from various organizations with diverse expertise to accomplish His purposes. As you watch this news story, imagine the impact that this work is having in the Deaf communities in Kenya and will have in other communities across the continent.

Recently a friend, Jessica, wrote on her blog about India’s first sign language Bible. It includes a link to the Door Int’l website and a slideshow of images from the celebration of that project completion!

I have a number of friends who are working in various roles supporting sign language translation and am learning that the final “product” can take many forms, including live animation video. Mission Network News featured a story about this work back in January after they interviewed another friend of mine, Julia, at the URBANA09 conference.

You could also — if you want to keep exploring this topic — listen to a radio interview with Dee and Shawn Collins that was recorded almost 18 months ago about how they got involved with animation and Bible translation. (Their interview ends about a minute before the radio broadcast. I know it’s a little long for our short attention spans, but if this topic interests you, you’ll find that time flies.)
