Mexican Flame Vine

On Easter Saturday when we stopped at Lukas on the way to Northland, this is one of the plants we found and brought home. I went there specifically to get a couple of vines.

This is called a Mexican Flame Vine and I’ve read that it grows quickly and will bloom about 6 times per year. Nice. I’ve also read that it propagates easily, so once it’s established I’ll be ready and willing to share.

I love the color in these blooms. I’ve not yet seen this, but have read in various places that these blooms are very attractive to butterflies, bees, and humming birds. I’ll be glad for all three. They’re welcome in my garden.

So are you.
