I learned from reading newspaper headlines as I’ve walked about the streets of Singapore around the YWCA where we’re staying and meeting that this city-country’s name is often abbreviated as I’ve done in the title of this blog. And now you know, too.
My early observations of this city would use vocabulary like “orderly” and “affluent” and “young.”
There are various parts to the downtown area — we were close to a whole bunch of art and design type schools, so the crowds hanging out at the food courts in various malls in close proximity were rather young and hip. Fun to watch, really.
