obedience as a technicality

Yeah, this silly German Shepherd is me. I do this. I look for the exact line that marks the place where behavior becomes sin — as if there is such a thing. My actions at times would make an observer think that I think God cares a lot about technicalities.

 

 

paws on the ground But really, I think God cares a lot more about the direction my heart is facing and not so much about whether my feet are on the floor or the ottoman.

Think about that whole thing where Jesus told people “you’ve heard that you shouldn’t kill, but I tell you that you shouldn’t hate — hate is as bad as murder” and you’ll see what I mean.
